Specchio Fatto A Mano / Handmade Mirror

Il progetto che vi mostro oggi è uno dei miei preferiti: lo specchio!

A dire il vero è il primo che realizzo, ma è passato subito tra i miei preferiti, perchè è un lavoro particolare e anche molto utile. Le misure della cornice sono 20 x 26 cm e lo specchio ovale è 13 x 18 cm, quindi abbastanza grande per specchiarsi comodamente. La forma è stata ritagliata da mio padre: la base è in compensato spesso 8 mm, e sopra ci ho applicato la carta decorata. Lo specchio l'ho ordinato dal vetraio (ne ho dovuta acquistare una modesta quantità), e si incastra perfettamente con la cornice in compensato. A questo punto ho iniziato a decorare il tutto, e per ultimi ho aggiunto il cordone rosa tutt' intorno, e il cordoncino a cappio in alto per poterlo appendere al muro.

Today I'm introducing you a project, which is among my favourite ones: a totally handmade mirror! Actually it's the first mirror I've produced up to now, but it has immediately become one of my favourite projects, as it's both a particular creation and very useful. The measures of the frame are 20x26 cm , while the oval mirror measures 13x18 cm. That means that it's big enough to look at yourself in it easily. My father cut the shape: the base is made of plywood, which is 8mm thick and I put a decorated paper on it. As far as the mirror is concerned, I ordered it from a glass-maker (I had to purchase a modest quantity of it) and it perfectly fits into the plywood frame. Then I started decorating everything and at the end I added a pink piping right round. Moreover I put a slipknot-shape string in the upper side of the frame, so that you can hang it on the wall.
